EXPERTISE
Delivering a more seamless continuum of care to a growing community
Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) sought to create capacity and strengthen its commitment to area families by creating the Muhlenberg Family Health Pavilion. This endeavor also provided an opportunity for LVHN to capture additional market share in a region of growing healthcare demand.
This campus expansion allows LVHN to provide exceptional obstetric care, newborn care services, and a seamless continuum of care. The scope included a mother-baby unit with 20 private rooms, a Level II NICU with 10 private rooms, inpatient rehabilitation services, and a new downtown-facing entrance. Amenities such as the rehab therapy healing garden and enhanced wayfinding were also thoughtfully incorporated into the design. As Bethlehem’s only hospital for delivering babies, LVHN became well-positioned to grow and support its community.
ERDMAN’s integrated process benefited us greatly in the sense that it was one point of contact throughout the entire process from the very early planning, through design, construction and occupancy. That allowed us to assign one project manager, where in the past a project of this size would have taken two or more of our project management resources. Having that one point really made the project go very efficiently.
